My name is Kevin Baumgartner. I'm 29 years old and work as a Software Engineer. I was born blind and developed a passion for technology at an early age. I spent countless hours at the computer during my childhood, exploring and playing with technology. At the age of 12, I wrote my first Bash script — the beginning of my journey into programming. For a long time, coding was just a hobby, until I began my training as an application developer in 2019. I successfully completed the program in the summer of 2021. Since then, I’ve learned six programming languages. In my professional work, I mainly use Swift and SwiftUI, and I also enjoy coding in Swift and PHP in my free time. One of my most successful projects was developing a website and business application for a small company. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors — taking photos and playing with my dog.
Thanks to my quick grasp of new concepts and my open, friendly nature, I integrate well into any team and easily adapt to different working environments. Despite being blind, I consistently deliver high-quality results on time and in an organized manner. In my daily life, I rely on my guide dog, who accompanies me to and from work. He remains calm and well-behaved throughout the workday and never disrupts the office environment — in fact, he often lifts the team's spirits and brings a bit of joy to the day.
